1989
Gold Country Seed was incorporated under Minnesota law.
Ownership was held by nine family-owned seed companies.
1997
Roundup Ready® Soybeans were added to
the Gold Country Seed product lineup.
1998
The new HQ office
and warehouse were completed at
16506 Highway 15 North,
Hutchinson, MN.
2000
GCS acquired the seed division of Minnesota Farm Bureau.
2004
GCS doubled warehouse size to accommodate
the rapidly expanding seed corn business.
2006
GCS joined the family of
American Seeds Companies.
2008
Sales of YieldGard VT Triple® seed corn
accounted for over half of company corn sales.
2009
Genuity™ Roundup Ready 2 Yield® Soybeans
were added to the product lineup.
Genuity™ SmartStax™ Corn Technology is approved and will be available for 2010 sales.
